Real Estate Agents

When you are looking for an apartment, it is sometimes more effective to try to get an apartment from a real estate agent, than by means of an advertisement. Real estate agents sometimes have apartments in their files for which they don't have any plans at the moment. If you write real estate agents on the right moment, you have a chance they don't mind you renting the place.
If you try to get an apartment from a real estate agent, it is wise to write to about fifty of them to have a fair chance. There are some hundreds of them in the yellow pages. Another point is that real estate agents like security and guarantees, they want to be convinced that you can and are willing to pay the rent, and won't give any trouble. Therefore it can be advisable to include some references in your - very formal and well-formulated - letter.
